SAD asks Cong not to expel Tytler and Sajjan if serious about sidelining them

CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked the Congress party not to indulge in political dramas by appearing to distance itself from 1884 Sikh massacre perpetrators Jagdish Tytler and-SajjanKumar and asked it to expel the duo from the party immediately instead of supporting them internally.

In a statement here, former minister and SAD spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said today’s directive to both Tytler and-SajjanKumar to leave the dharna site where Rahul Gandhi is set to undertake a fast in Delhi, was another example of Congress hypocrisy. “The very fact that the leaders reached the dharna site proves that they are active members of the Congress party. It also proves that the Congress party as well as the Gandhi family continues to nurture them secretly”.

Dr Cheema said even though the party was forced to make both leaders leave the dharna site as it did not want them to be seen publically with the party president, the Congress party has steadfastly refused to take any action against them. “This proves that the party as well as the Gandhi family fears that they will reveal some facts which will implicate the senior party leadership as well as the Gandhi family in the 1984 Sikh massacre case”.

The Akali leader said Tytler had already given a hint of the disclosures to come in case the Congress party took any action against him, by openly stating in a television interview that he had taken Rajiv Gandhi to various parts of Delhi on November, 1984 which were subsequently wreaked by mayhem against the Sikh community. He said Tytler even presented the killing of Sikhs as a ‘service’ rendered to the Gandhi family in a subsequent sting video for which he claimed he was entitled to special and highly respectable consideration. “Neither the Congress nor the Gandhi family contradicted his claim that he was promised chief ministership of Delhi or a Rajya Sabha seat indicating the hold he has over the Gandhi family”, Dr Cheema added.

The former minister said if Rahul Gandhi was indeed serious about distancing himself and his party from the blood-stained Tytler –Sajjan, duo he should immediately throw them out of the Congress. “Rahul should also apologize to the Sikh community for not taking this action earlier besides coming clean on the Congress as well as his family’s role in the genocide committed against the Sikh community in 1984”
