Legendry Gavaskar had his flop show in Chicago with less than 50 people coming to attend his event at Manav Sewa Mandir.
Initially a Grand Banquet for over 800 guests had been organized by the Maharashtra Mandal Chicago at the Ashton Place. A flood of calls were received by the Maharashtra Mandal Chicago, the moment it was advertised. But midway, the event was withdrawn from the Maharashtra Mandal Chicago and its promotion suddenly stopped. Later the event was again announced by the Manav Sewa Mandir under the aegis of AAPI and Manav Sewa Mandir. At the Manav Sewa Mandir, hardly anyone came to felicitate him there.
