Kuwait Airways honors travel agents with appreciation awards

NEW YORK - Christine Al-Wazzan, Regional Director of the Kuwait Airways has honored some of its travel agents at a ceremony in a Manhattan, New York. Many officials of the Kuwait Airways attended the Award Ceremony.

 

25 travel agents were bestowed with the Kuwait Airways Travel-Agent Appreciation Award at the event held at SAAR Restaurant which was attended by representatives from the Indian consulate – New York office and Indian Tourism - New York office. At the event Savio Dias, Sales Manager for the US and Canada; Rajesh Dabhi - Senior Sales Representative; Amardeep Singh - Sales representative and Muaath Abdulrahim - Station Manager - JFK Airport, aside from the Regional Director, spoke.

The awards were given for the first time in eight years, and Ms. Al-Wazzan – who is based at the airline’s Regional office in Fort Lee, N.J.-- said that from now on the event would be an annual affair. She added that the Kuwait Airways is “very popular” among Indians and other South Asians.

 

In India, the airline serves seven cities: Mumbai, New Delhi, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Kuwait Airways also serves 46 cities across the globe including Colombo, Dhaka, Lahore and Islamabad.

Dias said plans are afoot to offer more destinations to their valuable guests since the airline is planning on expanding its network to serve several more cities by end of next year 2020.

 

About 55 travel agents from across the US and Canada attended the November 20th event. Agents representing Cosmopolitan, Sky Bird, SkyLink, Travelong, Adam, Akbar, C&H, Four Seasons, Hariworld, Ovation, Riya, Suma, Thomsons, Trans Am, Travel Leaders Group, USA Gateway and Airroute participated in the event.

Kuwait Airways Company was established in 1954 and started serving nearby destinations. They are celebrating their 65th anniversary this year.

 

The airline now has 25 modern aircraft, equipped with latest entertainment systems and gadgets. Next year a new generation of Airbus A350, A330 & A320 will join its fleet. By 2022 they will have the youngest fleet in the Middle-East with aircrafts from Boeing and Airbus industries added to their fleet.
