INDIA CORONA UPDATE:
* India’s daily increase in total cases of 6,767, is its all-time single-day high. Its total tally has jumped from 125,101 to 131,868, an increase of 5.4%. Net increase of 147 in deaths has taken the country’s death toll to 3,867.

* India’s recovery rate has declined by 10 basis points to 41.3%; death rate is down 10 bps at 2.9%.

* India’s new daily closed cases stand at 2,804 — 147 deaths and 2,657 recoveries. The share of deaths in total closed cases stands at 5.24%.

* India’s 5-day moving average of daily rate of addition to total cases is unchanged at 5.4%.

* Net daily addition to India’s active cases is 3,963, a 21% increase from 3,267 on Saturday and the highest net single-day addition to active cases.

* India’s doubling time for total cases has increased from 12.7 days to 13.2 days.

* The states and UTs that have seen their sharpest single-day spike in total cases are Karnataka (216), Uttarakhand (91), Assam (70), and Kerala (63).

* Maharashtra, the most affected state, has added more than 2,000 cases (2,608 on Sunday) on each of the past seven days. About 35% (16,484) of all its cases (47,190) have come in these seven days alone.

* Tamil Nadu, the second-most-affected state, has added 759 cases, more than 400 cases for a 20th straight day — 12,489 cases, or 80% of all its cases (15,512), have come in these 20 days.

* Gujarat accounts for 10.36% of India’s total cases, but 21.6% of deaths.

* Delhi has reported an addition of 591 cases, its third-highest single-day increase, to take its tally to 12,910.

* Sikkim has reported its first cases; Dadra & Nagar Haveli has added its first case since May 6.

* In percentage terms, the highest daily increase in total cases has been reported by Dadra & Nagar Haveli (100%), Uttarakhand (59%), Assam (27%), Chhattisgarh (24%), Jharkhand (14%), and Karnataka (12%).
