HP to regularize 3,300 contract employees

Shimla, June 25: The cabinet in its meeting headed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh here today accorded sanction for regularizing the services of as many as 3300 contractual employees who have completed six years of regular service on 31 March 2014.

Besides, it also accorded approval to regularize services of all Daily Waged/Contingent paid workers who have completed seven years regular service on 31st March 2014. There are about five thousand such eligible employees. It also approved to provide five days special leave to contractual employees and increase maternity leave of contractual female employees from 12 weeks to 16 weeks.

 Apart from this the cabinet accorded approval to convert the services of those part time workers who have completed eight years of regular service on 31st March 2014 as daily wagers. At present there are three thousand part time workers who have completed eight years of regular service on this stipulated date.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief Minister had made these announcements in his budget speech.

As per the budget assurance for the upliftment of weaker sections, the Cabinet approved to enhance the income limit of low income groups to Rs. 35,000 from Rs. 12,000 per annum including part time water carriers in the education department for producing the income certificate for their appointment.

It decided to rename and implement the newly approved “Polyhouse Project on Production of Vegetables under Protective Cultivation” by NABARD as “Dr. Y.S Parmar Swarozgar Yojana”.

The Cabinet also decided to provide ‘Protsahan Rashi’ to the Himachali students getting admissions in ISM, Dhanbad at Jharkand and Indian Institute of Science, Banglore.

It also decided to enhance rehabilitation assistance to the inmates of State Home, Bal/Balika Ashrams being provided to Nari Sewa Sadan under Mukhya Mantri Bal Udhhar Yojana from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 for setting up their own trades/business and revision of consumable items.

It also approved to increase the annuity of Sena/Nau Sena/Vayu Sena Medal and “Mention in dispatch” from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 5000 per annum and increase in annuity to the winners of Sarvottam Yudh Sewa Medal/ Uttam Yudh Sewa Medal/ Yudh Sewa Medal/ Vashisht Sewa Medal from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000 per annum with effect from 1st April, 2014.

The Cabinet approved to increase number of seats of BAMS in Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College, Paprola from 50 to 60.

In order to provide remunerative prices to fruit growers and save them from exploitation in the markets, the Cabinet approved procurement price for mangoes from Rs. 5.50 to Rs. 6.50 per kg. under Market Intervention Scheme and the procurement of fruits would be done by HPMC and HIMFED in crates and will be allowed handling
