Holi is a colourful festival that marks the end of winter and arrival of spring. Every year, this great Indian festival of colours is celebrated at the end of the winter season in the month of March. A day before Holi, a hue bonfire is lit which is called Holika Dahan. It indicates the burning out of the evil spirits. Holika Dahan is performed only after sunset on a specific time on the Purnima Tithi (full moon).

This year, the festival of Holi will be celebrated on Monday, March 29, 2021. On the day of Holi, people enjoy throwing power or liquid colours over each other. People visit the homes of their relatives and friends with colours. The colourful celebration of Holi continues till afternoon. Post afternoon, everyone gets to freshen up to prepare delicious meals. People would visit family and friends with gifts and sweets. This year, it's advised to avoid water colours and play with dry colours only in view of Covid-19 safety guidelines.
