Delhi CM Kejriwal Announces Odd-Even Rule For Bazaars. Lockdown Relaxed

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the coronavirus-induced lockdown will continue in the national capital but with ease in restrictions. The lockdown has been extended in the city till 5 am on June 14.

Addressing the press, CM Kejriwal said markets and malls will be opened on odd-even basis. He also said the Delhi Metro will resume its operation with 50 per cent capacity from Monday.

Private offices will be allowed to function with 50 per cent staff. For government offices, Group A staff will be allowed to function with 100 per cent capacity while Group B will resume work with 50 per cent staff, the CM said.

CM Kejriwal said the administration is ready to combat the third wave of Covid-19. A pediatric task force has been set up considering the risk to children.

"With an expected third wave of Covid-19, 420 tonnes of oxygen storage capacity is being prepared. We have also spoken to Indraprastha Gas Limited to produce 150 tonnes of oxygen," ANI quoted him as saying.

Here are the lockdown relaxations announced in Delhi

- Essential services such as healthcare, police, fire stations, etc, will continue to work with full strength.

Private offices to resume operations with 50 per cent staff. The offices will open between 9 am and 5 pm. Employees need to produce a valid authority letter and valid ID card issued by their employer to travel to the office.

- For government offices, Group A staff will be allowed to function with 100 per cent capacity while Group B will resume work with 50 per cent staff.

- All malls, markets and market complexes (except weekly markets) shall open between 10 am to 8 pm on odd-even basis. Shops selling essential goods including educational books and stationery shops, fan shops in malls, markets and market complexes, are permitted to open on all days without the restriction of timing.

- All standalone (single) shops and all neighbourhood (colony) shops and shops in residential complexes, shall be permitted to open on all days without any distinction of essential and non-essential goods/services. However, the timings of such shops dealing with non-essential goods/services will be between 10 am to 8 pm.

- Delivery of all type of goods through e-commerce shall be allowed on production of valid I card issued by the employer.
