Charlotte Casiraghi, 35, married film producer Dimitri Rassam, 39, in a lavish wedding in the south of France in 2019. The bride had two weddings, a civil ceremony and a religious ceremony, like Grace Kelly.

For the civil ceremony in June 2019, Charlotte and Dimitri tied the knot in the state rooms of Monaco’s royal palace – the same place as Grace wed Prince Rainier in 1956.

Charlotte wore a grey brocade minidress, designed by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent.

The dress featured three large grey bows on its front and a scallop hemline.

Charlotte finished the look with white stilettos and minimalist jewellery.

Dimitri donned a navy-blue suit, a white shirt, and a light blue tie.

Charlotte’s brocade dress has been compared to the skirt suit Grace wore for her civil ceremony in 1956.

The young royal may have been influenced by her grandmother’s outfit, which featured an embroidered brocade design in an ivory-cream colour.

For the reception, however, Charlotte changed into a strapless white gown.

Designed by Chanel, the dress had a tight bodice and its satin skirt, which had a slit in its middle, billowed a little.

Charlotte’s brunette hair was slicked back in a hairdo not unlike Grace’s famous icy blonde locks.

But the new bride’s necklace stole the show.

A Cartier piece covered in diamonds, the necklace used to belong to Grace.

It was given to the late Princess as a gift before her marriage to Prince Rainier.

Featuring a collection of 64-carat diamonds, set in a three-strand design, the necklace was made by Cartier in 1953 and bought by Prince Rainier as an engagement gift for his bride-to-be.

Grace wore the necklace on numerous occasions while she was Princess, including for multiple portraits.

After Grace’s tragic death in 1982, the jewel was given to the Palais Princier Collection in the Palace of Monaco.

It was later worn by Princess Caroline of Hanover, Grace’s eldest daughter, before being worn by Charlotte for her wedding reception.

A month after their civil ceremony, Charlotte and Dimitri celebrated their religious wedding in Provence, the south of France.

This time, Charlotte wore a white flowing dress with a sheer neckline and sleeves.

Designed by Giambattista Valli, the gown was reminiscent of the dress Princess Caroline wore when she married property developer Philippe Junot in 1978.

Phillippe was Caroline’s first husband before she married Charlotte’s father, Stefano, in 1983.

Taking to social media in June 2019, many royal fans commented on Charlotte’s reception look, when she wore the white Chanel dress and her grandmother’s diamond necklace.
