Detox drinks to prep up for the festive season

The festive season is around the corner and it is that time of the year, when we ditch all fitness plans to indulge in some delightful sweets and snacks. However, the guilt of eating too many calories sets in after a few days of festive gorging. But what if we tell you that tweaking your diet by adding some healthy drinks to your diet, a week before festives can help you sail through a few days of crazy eating without adding on too much weight! Here are some healthy drinks to boost your metabolism and prep-up for the festive feasting!

Beetroot Juice
If you don’t want to exert too much, but want to detoxify your system with something healthy and nourishing. Then try this simple beetroot juice which is loaded with minerals, antioxidants and vitamins. You can accentuate the taste of this drink by adding some freshly grounded black pepper, lemon juice and rock salt. You can also make a smoothie with slices of beetroot and mix it with tomatoes or carrots to boost the health quotient of the drink.

Fennel Tea

This is a simple drink, which you can make by adding a few Fennel seeds to a glass full of hot water, cover it and enjoy. The presence of oils in Fennel helps in releasing digestive enzymes, which further helps in improving digestion by boosting metabolism. Lemon Detox Water

To make this simple drink, just infuse 5-7 slices of lemon, mint and 1 cinnamon stick in 1 litre water. Keep it overnight and sip throughout the day. Ginger Detox Tea

To make this simple tea, just boil 2 cups of water, add in 1 inch grated ginger and along with lemon slices.
