Two army men killed in Sunderbani sector cross LoC firing

SRINAGAR, APRIL 10: Two army men were killed in Pakistani Army firing along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials said on Tuesday.

“Rifleman Jaki Sharma, aged 30 years, belonged to Village Sanhail, Hiranagar, District Jammu, J&K and is survived by his wife, Smt Rajni Devi. Rifleman Vinod Singh and Rifleman Jaki Sharma,” he added.

 A defence spokesman said that Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LC).

 “Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively. However, in the exchange of fire, Rifleman Vinod Singh and Rifleman Jaki Sharma were grievously injured and succumbed to their injuries. Rifleman Vinod Singh, aged 24 years, belonged to Village Danapur, Jaurian, District Akhnoor, J&K and is survived by his father, Shri Ajit Singh,” he said.

 “Rifleman Jaki Sharma, aged 30 years, belonged to Village Sanhail, Hiranagar, District Jammu, J&K and is survived by his wife, Smt Rajni Devi. Rifleman Vinod Singh and Rifleman Jaki Sharma,” he added.
