Maldives to open for Indian tourist from today

The island nation of Maldives will allow tourists from India to visit for non-essential travel from today. The archipelago is reopening its borders for South Asian countries from today as was announced by the country's president last month.

"Henceforth, an OCI cardholder travelling on the strength of an existing OCI card bearing old passport number is not required to carry the old passport. However, carrying the new (current) passport is mandatory," the embassy said.
