CHICAGO - Under the banner of the US India Friendship Council, Ms Nirmala Reddy organized the book-launch of the book titled 'Yogi Who Transformed Uttar Pradesh.' Its author Mr Shantanu Gupta was present during the book launch.

Bhailal Patel and Kantibhai N Patel, Trustees FIA administered the ‘Oath of Office’ to the incoming Executive Committee.

In Chicago, ‘Kashmir Files’ Leaves Youth Invigorated; Audience Sniffling; Oldies Debating

CHICAGO – ‘Kashmir Files’ a feature film based on exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley during 1990s was screened in a Chicago suburb on 12 Dec 2021. The screening was part of an ongoing string of film’s screenings that ‘Global Kashmiri Diaspora,’ is organising across the United States. Locally based book reading collective named ‘Indica’ organized the Chicago screening under aegis of its executive Mr Rakesh Malhotra, who is also President-Elect of the Federation of India Associations (FIA). He was assisted by other FIA executives to include: Mr Amar Upadhaya, Ms Nirmala Reddy, Mr Hemant Patel, and Mr Abhinav Raina. Mr Soman Dhar also assisted.

FVGUS Celebrates Ganesh Utsav In Naperville

NAPERVILLE - Foxvalley Ganesh Utsav Samithi (FVGUS) celebrated the Ganesh festival with pomp and gaiety for the sixth year in a row. FVGUS started the first Public Ganesh celebrations in the Chicago area in 2016 and is continuing the tradition. MILWAUKEE – Under the bandobast of Milwaukee socialite Ms Purnima Nath, pro-Hindu groups held a vociferous protest in Milwaukee demanding security and protection to the Hindus living in India’s West Bengal. Sikh NRI Killed During California Railyard Shooting

SAN JOSE – A 36 year old Taptejdeep Singh Gill got killed in the shooting that took place in California rail yard. Eight other persons, besides the shooter, were killed in the incident. Taptejdeep Singh Gill, who migrated to the US in 2005, was a light rail operator.

Anjana Samadder Wins Prestigious AAPI Elections. Vows AAPI Reforms

CHICAGO – Dr Anjana Samadder has been elected the prestigious Vice President of the Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI). She defeated her opponent Dr Amit Chakrabarty by a colossal margin of votes. This prestigious victory paves way for her to automatically be AAPI President during the year 2023. The bitterly fought elections concluded 10 April 2021. The candidates who have been declared victorious are: Dr Anjana Samadder, the Vice President; Dr Satheesh Kathula, the Secretary; and Dr Krishan Kumar the Treasurer. Three Board of Trustees (BOT) have also been elected for a three-year term. These include: Dr Sapna Aggarwal, Dr Lokeswara Edara, and Dr Srinagesh Paluvoi.

CHICAGO - Dr Suresh Reddy has been elected one of the Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook in the 06 April 2021 polls. Dr Reddy was on the 3-candidate slate that its team-leader Dr Gopal Lalmalani had pushed into the elections. All three won. The other two victors are: Laurence Herman, and Jim Nagle. Dr Suresh Reddy secured 20.2 percent of the total votes polled. Of the six contestants, he ranked at third position. Dr Suresh Reddy replaces Trustee Moin Saiyed, a known face in the Oak Brook polity who finishes his 4-year term. Moin Saiyed was first elected in the year 2007.
