In Chicago, Sikhs and minorities to protest to oppose RSS Hindu agenda

 Chicago: In accordance with the First Amendment of the US constitution, the Sikh community along with other minority communities will be exercising their freedom of speech, and the freedom to assemble peacefully on Wednesday, to oppose RSS (Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh) and its Hindu fundamentalist agenda.

Sikh Religious Society, Palatine which is organising the protests says, the RSS is further advancing its agenda of hatred and violence on the American soil by legitimizing it under World Hindu Congress which is being held in Lombard, a suburb of Chicago, IL, from September 7th - 9th, 2018.

Please come and join in solidarity to raise voice against genocide of minorities in India in the form of a peaceful protest during the convention, September 7th through 9th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, in front of Westin Hotel, 78 Yorktown Center, Lombard, IL 60148.  

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP CM Yogi Adityanath are likely to be greeted with protests during their September 7-9 visit to Chicago (US) as the Sikh Coordination Committee East Coast has started mobilising its cadres against the right-wing leaders. 

A New York-based committee has also called upon members of other Sikh outfits to join them in the protest. Bhagwat and Yogi are scheduled to meet Indian community leaders at a hotel in Lombard (Chicago). Along with posters depicting its gherao call, the Sikh committee has issued two caricatures showing Sikhs chasing Bhagwat and Yogi holding placard reading ‘we won’t come again’. 

Organizations and communities participating in this protest event include: Alliance for Justice and accountability, Muslims - Indian American Muslim Council, Ambedkar Association of North America¸the Sikhs and Kashmiris.
