The US FDA has approved an eye drop that can improve close-range vision. Developed by the pharmaceutical company Allergan, doctors have touted Vuity as an alternative to reading glasses.
The eyedrop will be available by prescription this month and is a once-a-day treatment.
Vuity improves near vision by constricting the size of the pupil.
