Chandigarh, Jan. 12: The Punjab Government has issued instructions to all the Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries, Administrative Secretaries and Heads of the department to give preference to domestically manufactured electronic products in government procurement.

Disclosing this, a Government spokesperson said that these instructions are issued in accordance with the policy of the Government of India, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Deity).

The spokesperson also said that quarterly reports concerning preference given to domestically manufactured electronic products in government procurement relating to funds received from Government of India, should be sent to Government of India and first quarterly report be sent by 20-1-2015.
