Education is a pivotal force around which society revolves: Sidhu

Chandigarh, August 23: "The education is the most vital aspect which should occupy the centre stage in a person's life and it's the best gift that parents can bestow upon their children." Talking straight from the heart here today at hotel hyatt regency on the occasion of giving away 'The Times Edupreneurs Awards' for excellence in educational sphere, the Local Government, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu said that education is the pivotal force around which the whole society revolves whose all round development is closely interlinked with it."

A coffee table book was also released on the occasion. Prominent Among other dignitaries present included Mr. Robin David (Resident Editor, Times of India), and Mr. Vikas Bhardwaj (Branch Head, Chandigarh).

Laying great emphasis on the significance of the quality education, the minister said that the main purpose of the education is to make people self-sufficient and confident enough to shed the fear of failure and face the challenges of life head on. He also said that a robust educational system produces enlightened minds that bring glory to the nation.

Earlier, the minister was honoured by the Times Group and he later gave away the awards to various educational institutions for rendering yeoman's service in the field of education. The awardees included Aryan Group of Colleges (Anshu Kataria), DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology Jalandhar (Prof. Manoj Kumar), Adesh Group of Institutions (Ex-Chairman Dr. Harinder Singh Gill), GNA University Phagwara (Chancellor Mr. Gursharan Singh), Anee's School (Chairman Aneet Goel), Ramgarhia Group of Institutions Phagwara (President cum Chairperson Manpreet Kaur), Gulzar Group of Institutions Khanna (Mr. Gurkirat Singh), Amritsar College of Engineering and Technology Amritsar (Mr. Amit Sharma), Shri Guru Harkrishan Group Patiala (Chairman Jagjit Singh Dardi), Indian Heritage School Pathankot (Principal Madam Shashi) and Hansraj Mahila Mahavidyalaya  Jalandhar (Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen).
